Workshop on Vehicular Networks and Sustainable Mobility Testbed
Next April 24, the Future Cities Project is hosting a Workshop on Vehicular Networks and Sustainable Mobility Testbed. In partnership with the Municipality of Porto, this event is gathering worldwide experts such as Katrin Sjöberg, from Volvo Sweden.
The Vehicular Networks and Sustainable Mobility Testbed consists of hundreds of networked vehicles, which connect to each other and to the infrastructure. Within the Future Cities Project several industrial and university partners developed the largest vehicular network in the world. More than 400 STCP buses are now interconnected. Beyond WiFi, the vehicular network also gathers bus data that may result in the optimization of energy consumption, mitigation of environmental impact, and management of road and public transport.
